Tiger Woods Pulls Out of Open Championship
Tiger Woods has announced that he will not be able to play the weekend rounds of the 2024 Open Championship at Royal Troon due to an injury sustained during the first round.
Woods, who was making his first appearance at Royal Troon since 2016, shot a 6-over-par 77 on Thursday in challenging conditions.
Following his round, Woods said that he was experiencing pain in his right leg and would seek medical attention.
On Friday morning, Woods announced that he would withdraw from the championship.
This is the second major championship that Woods has missed this year due to injury, as he also withdrew from the Masters Tournament in April.
Woods' withdrawal is a major blow to the Open Championship, as he was one of the pre-tournament favorites.
